Step into the light-filled space at Penflora for two hours of creativity and calm. Surrounded by fresh seasonal blooms, you’ll learn the essentials of watercolor painting, including color mixing, brush techniques, and how to begin your own floral composition. All materials are provided, including a travel watercolor palette for you to take home and keep painting. Whether you're new to watercolor or returning to it after a break, this workshop is designed to be approachable, inspiring, and joyful. Light bites and refreshments will be served. What’s included: A curated set of professional-grade watercolors in a travel palette 100% cotton cold press watercolor paper Brushes, palette, and water cups for in-class use Fresh seasonal flowers as reference Light bites and refreshments Participants will enjoy a special discount at Penflora on the day of the workshop What you’ll learn: How to capture flowers and leaves using basic shapes Watercolor techniques: wet-on-wet, gradient wash, wet-on-dry Mixing colors from primary colors Brush control for mark making Instructor: Julie Tsang Kavanagh, a classically trained artist whose work has been exhibited throughout the Bay Area including the de Young Museum and Triton Museum of Art. Her favorite subjects include botanicals, portraiture, and animals.
